Are Curses Real PDF Print E-mail

                                                         ARE CURSES REAL

Perhaps you have asked this question, “can curses be real and do they still exist today?” Can curses be inherited?  I hope as you read this article that you will take the time and check out the Bible references I have used plus find some for yourself within the Holy Word of God. When you receive the revelation of the impact of curses upon one’s life and take the time to break and renounce curses then you will experience many life changing releases in your life as well as your families lives.  That is why this subject is central for your freedom from turmoil and torment and being held back in doing the things of God. Upon the realization of what curses really consist of and the effects upon lives you will walk in a level of freedom that has not been experienced before.

Curses come in various forms and are found in the Bible approximately 230 times in various ways and aspect of people’s lives. I want to take a realistic viewpoint of curses and how it is obvious that many people lack evidence of God’s blessings in their lives. Have you ever ask yourself why is this?  Have you ever said God just really doesn’t care, for I really try and it doesn’t seem to get better just worse? We are either blessed or cursed.  It is time that we determine “if” and “why” we are cursed and what we need to do to reverse this condition. One thing that you must have the blessed assurance about is that God has in Christ Jesus made provision for you to move from curses to blessings.

A curse is defined as to utter a wish of evil against; to call for mischief or injury to fall upon, or to bind with a spell.  When we look at God’s perspective, a curse is a sentence of Divine judgment upon sinners of disobedience, rebellion and refusing to walk in the commandments that He has laid down for His people.  Because of these factors there are repercussions because of violating our relationship with God.  There is also an opposite side to curses and that is the covenant of blessings that we have with God “IF” we are willing to walk in obedience. You notice I emphasized “if” because God used “if” in the Bible 1,522 times.  Would you not agree that the word “if” surely must be important to the Holy One of Israel?  He is saying if you do this then it will bring forth the covenant blessing that I have ordained for you as My child. When you choose to walk in disobedience it will bring repercussions of Divine judgment from God upon you which is a curse.

It is important for you to earmark your Bible to these important references so that you can read, study, and meditate upon these Holy Scriptures in order to receive the understanding and revelation of what and how God is speaking to you. Go to Deuteronomy chapters 27 and 28 and read the blessings and curses which are important. The blessings are a covenant agreement to us by God. The curses are Divine judgment placed upon us because of our sins of disobedience.  The book of Leviticus 27:30; Malachi 3:8-10; Deuteronomy 7:25-26 ; Deuteronomy 11:26-28; Exodus 21:24; Leviticus 24:20; Deuteronomy 19:21. We must never forget that every sin or misdeed towards God or man, there is an equal consequence.  The only way one can escape the penalty of the law is to appropriate the Blood of the Cross in order for that particular curse to be blotted out.  As you continue to read this article you will see how the sins of your fathers and forefathers have affected your lives down though the generations which is exactly what God says in His Holy Word. “The sins of our fathers would visit the children unto the 3rd and 4th generation.” That is approximately 400 years. Exodus 20: 4-6. Go to the Book of Judges and study the true reality of curses and their effect upon the lives of generations. Closely look, for in this book, lie key truths that curses are real, a curse is caused by sin, a curse can be spoken over a person and because God is the judge of men’s hearts and motives than God can sanction a curse.  The “power” of a curse is demonic.

Just as we have proof in the Bible about how curses affect God’s people we see curses in the secular arena also.  In history we see that curses are real through hate crimes, wars, abortions, genocides of many races and belief systems. We have an incredible amount of information from the Bible as well as from the secular realm to see that curses and effects of curses are real and present today in people’s lives. I am talking about believers.  It is up to you to make a choice to stop these curses within your generation so that you and your seed can start walking in blessings and experience the fruit of the blessings instead of the stinking fruit that curses produce in your life as well as your seeds lives. It is your choice, I pray you make the decision today. “His Atoning Blood” is available to you if you receive or have received Him as your personal Savior. It is time, this is your hour to turn your life around and start receiving the blessings, the healing that has been provided to you by your Savior Jesus Christ.

When you do not obey the LORD, then you incur the penalty called curses. God has a system of enforcement, just as there are rules of conduct that man must obey in society.  “In spite of inflation, the wages of sin remain the same.” Curses bring punishment, painful experiences, conditions and feeling into your life. Blessings are much more desirable and truly beneficial and God wants to grants those blessings to you if you walk in a covenant relationship with Him.  It is your choice, for God has set blessings and curses before you; in order for you to partake then you must obey so that you and your family can receive the total benefit package.  The provision are available, it is up to you to appropriate what Jesus Christ has done for you at Calvary. Breaking curses allows you to walk in a new freedom.

In Deuteronomy 30:19 it says: “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that BOTH YOU AND YOUR SEED MAY LIVE.” Powerful scripture that emphasis exactly how God feels about generational curses!

Now there are many different types of curses. For this particular study I will list some of them but will go into greater detail in studies that will follow this one. The main purpose of this particular teaching is for you to go to your Bible and see what God says about curses, how they affect you and your seed so that  you will move by faith in God’s Word to know that you have all power and authority within your being because of Him who dwells within you to breaks curses over you and your family.

Curses from Deuteronomy 28, generation curses, personal sin curses, word curses, cursed items in our homes, witchcraft curses, law governing curses, engendered authority curses, curses on our land, our nation. What do curses do in a simple statement? Curses give the enemy the legal right to your life, once curses our broken the enemy only has the legal right that you choose to give him.

It is important to pray and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you the ancestral curses within your bloodlines because of the ancestral sins. Ancestral curses often are determined by their effects which I want to give you some examples so that you can use these as “spring boards” in seeking God about these in your own life or the lives of a family member.

1.     Breakdown of family relationships, including divorce.

2.     Poverty or on-going financial struggles

3.     Mental  and emotion breakdowns

4.     Sickness and diseases of chronic nature, hereditary diseases

5.     Barrenness and impotency, miscarriages, chronic female   complications.

6.     Failures

7.     Premature deaths or unnatural deaths

8.     Traumatic situations in your life, going from crisis to crisis

9.     Being spiritually hindered in doing work for God’s Kingdom, inability to hear God’s voice, or experience His presence, feeling of an inability to communicate with God in prayer or walking in any of the spiritual gifts. No desire to read or study God’s Word stating “I don’t understand what I am reading.”

10. Addictions to food, pornography, sexual sins, fetishes

11. Sexual perversion

12. Incest

This list is only a few things that are signs of curses on your life or within your bloodline.  In time, as I take this to a deeper level much more will be revealed in studies that follow.

It is important to understand that we are under the “new covenant” because God declared that time would come and it did though Jesus Christ.  God said He would write His law “in the hearts” of man and each would be directly responsible for their sins.  Jeremiah 31:30 is the first time the “new covenant” is spoken of in the Old Testament. God’s new covenant is the covenant of grace that came though Jesus Christ’s shed blood on Calvary.  Grace does not mean that a curse can no longer light and be passed down through the generations. Often people believe that because of grace we no longer can be bound by curses. This is a myth and a form of replacement theology that has caused many within the church to think that because they are born again they are no longer are under a curse.  Remember the word “APPROPRIATE.” Then see if you believe the latter part of that statement.  If you have evidence of generational curses operating in your life you need to appropriate the provisions of the cross. Confess the sins of your fathers and forefathers known and unknown. Once you do this the demons can be commanded to come out in the name of Jesus, because their legal right has been broken. The effects of curses are the works of the devil which Jesus came to destroy, 1 John 3:8.

When you study Genesis 3 you will see the sin of Adam’s rebellion affects his sons in several ways. His sons received the curse of rebellion and were cursed with a rebellious nature. They were also cursed for rebellion and suffered the penalty of the law for it.  It was the law then that brought into the lives of the descendants what the parents did with the appropriate penalty attached.  God loves men, but he hates sin that destroys them and because of His love he has given man warning –“ What you sow, your children will reap!” This should give each of us something to seriously think about if we say we love our children, will we go on sinning when we know though the spoken and written Word of God that it will bring suffering upon our children. Can you continue in your sin knowing this?

This was one main factor that had the greatest impact on turning my life over to God and beginning to seriously seek His face for the revelation of generational sins in my bloodline so that my children and grandchildren could be free of those generational sins.  Now their own personal sins are their responsibility, but we have a responsibility to our children for the generational stuff. AMEN!

At times people will say these curses are in the Old Testament and no longer apply to us today because of the New Testament. I say do not be deceived and allow the enemy to rob you of the fullness of life that you have been promised when you have eyes to see and the Holy Spirit to guide you into that place of truth. Regardless of what man may say God’s word is specific.  It requires an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth….. Leviticus 24:20. Not even the forgiveness of God will make the Law of no account.  The Law must be satisfied and its penalties fully carried out.  God's word is forever and it will never change. He deals with the behavior of man according to the Law.  For it is the Law that convicts.

Illustrations are great for understanding: if you have a child that disobeys you and you have warned them if they to do this particular thing that you will take the car away from them. Now the child disobeys, you call them on it and the child says “I am sorry, it won’t happen again.”  Now you forgive the child and you explain that you have forgiven them, however you must keep your word and take the car as promised. If you do not carry though with what your consequences would be then your word has no credibility and the child would lose respect for you in time thinking I can do what I want because the consequences aren’t real.  This is the same with God we sin or disobey and even though we repent and we are forgiven, the consequences are still there. God has and will punish disobedience and reward obedience, righteousness and faith. The New Testament promises of judgment do not differ from those of the Old Testament even though “replacement theology” has tried to convince believers it does.  Rom. 2:9-11 'Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first and also of the Gentile; But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that worketh  good, to the Jew first and also to the Gentile; For there is no respect of persons with God.” Paul is speaking and making clear a fundamental truth concerning God’s dealing with mankind: God punishes evildoers and rewards the righteous. Righteous are those who have been justified by faith and persevere in doing what is right according to God’s standards, they take great value in the “whole benefit package.”  Those who choose to do evil are selfish, disobey the truth, and take pleasure in unrighteousness will receive wrath, anger and tribulation because there is no fear of God before their eyes. When one has the fear of God they will seek reconciliation and peace with God,

individuals, businesses, groups, states, nations, governments.  Each will receive the seeds it has sown in like kind.  National idolatry results in curses of poverty, despair, financial ruin, wars.

The enemy can only gain the territory that man concedes to him through their disobedience to the Word and disrespect for human life and one another.  Man has open doors for the enemy to work in their lives and we must not forget that the enemy is a legalist, hence he is enforcing the Law, and man continues to follow by an increase of violence and sins in our daily lives.  How much space have you given to the enemy camp?  A great man once said: “in a sense, Satan is God’s monkey wrench, to tighten up loose nuts.” The Law is still in effect for lawbreakers, saved or unsaved. The penalties still falls on the rebellious, but the difference is that you and I can gain release from the sure penalties of the Law because of the provisions made in Christ. The Atoning Blood of Jesus Christ gained our forgiveness: His stripes bought our healing; His poverty our provision. However the least understood is the fact that He hung on that tree for you and me accepting the punishment of our sins, receiving every possible curse for every wrong action and that HIS DEATH completely satisfied the Law of a righteous God.

Christ did not come to free us from the Law for it is good and holy. He did come to redeem us from the curse of the Law that we might enjoy the blessings of Abraham. Salvation opens our eyes to the great need for perfected obedience as disciples.

Many receive forgiveness, but most remain undelivered from the consequences of sin.  Forgiveness does not necessarily mean deliverance from the penalty, but it is a separate benefit which is claimed by faith. Forgiveness, deliverance, healing, provision, gifts are all benefits of the cross, but whatever we desire we must specifically appropriate by faith. Ask not receive not! The price has been paid but it is up to each one of us to apply the benefit to our individual needs. If this is not done, then you will endure the cycles of judgment due that fits the transgression. Specific demons enforcing the penalty lodge themselves in the area determined by the sin itself.  Examples female troubles, sexual dysfunctions, weight gains, etc. are often the consequences experienced in the flesh.

Many circumstances in a believer’s life are beyond the natural man to understand or even comprehend and that is why we need the Holy Spirit to bring to each one of us revelation in those areas of our life this is inhabited and dominated by curses. Know that he will bring revelation if you sincerely want to know and want to deal with situations that have bothered you for a long time.

There are steps and these will be necessary each time as you deal with curses that the Holy Spirit reveals to you:

1.     Discern the problem though the Holy Spirit

2.     Forgiveness is the main key, forgiveness of other as well as self. This includes the forgiveness of your forefathers and ancestors that could have been involved in the suspected inherited curses, whether dead or alive. Deliverance and real change is always based on prayer, acknowledging the sins of the fathers, and seeking forgiveness. It is almost a sure thing that there our supporting sin in your current generation to be forgiven. When asking for forgiveness be specific, it is important for you to understand the seriousness of each offense and wrong action. You are honoring God when you take this serious because you are honoring His Word. Just as deliverance is accomplished through identifying and casing out specific demons by name, curses are broken through specific forgiveness as based on 1 John 1:9. Example: “Heavenly Father, forgive my forefathers and ancestors and forgive me as well for our use and abuse of ( name the curse). LORD, forgive our forefathers (including wife’s ancestors) for not honoring you with the first fruits of our increase (tithing), etc.”

3.     The actual breaking the curses. This is when you are appropriating the penalty to the cross, or making the curse of the law of no effect.  You have secured forgiveness, hence you can confidently speak, the word and claim your freedom. Prayer: “ I break every curse operating in me and my family line in the area of (name the curse, ) in Jesus’ name. or you can say I now break every inherited curse of (name the curse,) in Jesus.  These could be sexual perversion, rejection, alcoholism, drugs, vandalism, defacement of public property, anger, rebellion, infirmity, etc. in Jesus name. Do not leave any loopholes for the enemy to have a legal hold. Be specific and direct in describing the character and limits of your freedom. Deliverance of repentance, renunciation, forgiveness and freedom pave the way for a quick and lasting deliverance. You have also secured a way for your loved ones to open the door for their healing and prosperity.  Don’t misunderstand this last statement, your loved ones must follow up and pursue freedom for themselves. You can bind up and move obstacles out of the way but the final decision is in their court, they must decide to go on with the LORD.

4.     Because of writing down the steps this one is the last one written but it should be done each time and that is to thank and praise the LORD for His mercy and grace and believe for miracles.  By doing this you have opened the door for the blessings of Abraham to flow freely into your life and the lives of your family. The handwriting of ordinances against you has been blotted out and the curse of the Law has been laid on the cross. Go forth as the new nature within you will begin to work itself out and life will be more joyous no matter what you may be encountering and you will be walking in an expectancy of things once that was denied to you by the curse of the Law.  You will receive expect exceedingly and abundantly above all you could ever ask or think. ALLELUIA.

                                       FREEDOM IS YOUR PORTION
